Jan13- 15 Dose- Urban Living Issue

Last Friday's Dose (the weekend edition actually) features issues about Urban Living. I've skimmed through it and it mentions Urban exploration, slang, fashion, and culture among other tidbits. The cover page demonstrates nicely what Prof. Barker said about dichotomies. It's a cartoon city where one side is all sunshine, social order and old ladies being helped across the street. The other side is totally grey, except for the red blood spilling out of a dead person lying in the middle of the street. The buildings are either abandoned or being demolished, the trees are decaying and a homeless man roasts food on a stick over an barrel.

Try to pick it up before Monday. I think's it's worth the time of a subway ride.

Perhaps the Dose image is a more contemporary version of the Metropolis film's 'underground city'. Only now rather than being a world populated by oppressed workers, it is a world populated by violent gangs and their victims.
