New Mind Space

On CBC Radio this weekend, I heard this interesting piece on a group called "newmindspace" that is based out of Toronto and New York and coordinate creative urban interventions. Past events have included:a pillow-fight protest at Dundas Square, a city wide egg hunt, a party on a street car (complete with decorations and DJ) and the list goes on. Perhaps these events could be thought of as a way to mythologize Toronto or at least to bring urban dwelling out its monotony. Regardless, it looks quite interesting.
So check it out: www.newmindspace.com

Newmindspace is also responsible for the amazing streetcar and subway events like Halloween part in a subway car and tea party on the streetcar. They've got a group on Facebook that sends you what their upcoming events are if you want to know. It's a fun way to reclaim public space for public use.
