City of Toronto map - fantasy style

A friend shared this image with me on Facebook.

My first thought was to think of this class and how the prof brought up our own perception towards Toronto. Just thought this would be an interesting share, and whether some of you agree or disagree with the fantastical representation of each district.

I for one am really amused with City Hall, aka "Dragon Mayor's Lair".

I enjoy the "Yorkville Yuppie Orcs" droning around with their dogs and shopping bags around the "mod" ROM. It may be because I live close to Yorkville, but it feels as if this is one of the better representations on the map.

I've been looking at how "ground" is being used - mountains, forest, the different colours.

It's neat how the annex and u of t are separated by a few hills and sparse trees, while the mayor's office, bay street and the rest of the financial district are blocked off by volcanoes.

The artist seems to be visually representing the socioeconomic stratification which exists in Toronto with these environmental features.

Yes I too am an orc who lives on the northern fringes of Yorkville. It's interesting how this map qualifies uptown as a wasteland because things of value are seen to only take place in the heart of the city.
And I like how the Annex folk are seen as wizards because they are mostly students! Very interesting map.
